首先我想与大家分享一个有趣的故事：记得有一次，大哲学家苏格拉底对学生说：“今天咱们只学一件最简单也是最容易做的事：每人把胳膊尽量往前甩。”说着，苏格拉底示范了一遍，“从今天开始，每天做300下，大家能做到吗?”学生们都笑了，这么简单的事，有什么做不到的!过了一个月，苏格拉底问学生们：“每天甩300下，哪些同学坚持了?”有90%的同学骄傲地举起了手。又过了一个月，苏格拉底又问，这回，坚持下来的学生只剩下八成。一年后，苏格拉底再一次问大家：“请告诉我，最简单的甩手运动，还有哪几位同学坚持了?”这时，整个教室里，只有一人举起了手。这个学生就是后来成为古希腊另一位大哲学家的柏拉图。这个小故事所蕴含的深刻含意是显而易见的。

法国伟大的启蒙思想家布封曾经说过：“天才就是长期的坚持不懈。”我国著名的数学家华罗庚也曾说：“做学问，做研究工作，必须持之以恒。”的确，我们干什么事，要取得成功，坚持不懈的努力和持之以恒的精神都是必不可少的。古今中外，有多少这样的例子，巴尔扎克用如痴如狂的拼劲，每天奋笔疾书十六七个小时，即使累得手臂疼痛，双眼流泪，也不肯浪费一刻时间。这就是他能够完成一部部巨作的原因。他给我们的启示又是什么呢我想，他给我们每个人注入了一股强大的精神力量，那就是明确目标，坚持不懈，终能成功!世间最容易的事是坚持，最难的事也是坚持。说它容易，是因为只要愿意做，人人能做到，说它难，是因为真正能做到的，终究只是少数人。

坚持是一种信念，坚持是一种修养，坚持是一种高尚的品质。

而如今我们有些同学为了眼前利益，不做长远的打算，竟在考试中作弊，这种不合xx高中校风的做法，不仅让学校、老师蒙羞，也失去了检测自己的机会，而失去这次机会，就相当于放弃了自己，最终一事无成。

成功和失败之间往往只有一步之遥，想成功，就要坚持。这是一个并不神秘的秘诀。但只坚持勤奋，却选错了方向，则令人可悲。“勤奋”不是只要存在就有价值，偏离了正确方向，方向错了，就是一列疾速列车脱了轨，你汗水也罢，泪水也罢，血水也罢，那个终点却是“可望”而“不可及”的了。如果把坚持勤奋美化成点金石，以为无论何种腐朽经过它的点化都会变成神奇，殊不知这就像把一块石头变成一匹锦缎，把一束丝线攻成美玉，也许力道、方法都恰当，却选错了对象。

当困难，绊住你成功脚步的时候;当失败，挫伤你进取雄心的时候;当负担，压得你喘不过气的时候，不要退缩，不要放弃，一定要坚持下去，因为只有坚持不懈，才能通向成功!

记得读大学时，我曾对我的未来充满希翼，憧憬和遐想，想用火一样的热情去描绘绚丽的事业。20××年9月，我应聘到了××三中，那时所私立学校，在那里我成了一名被人们誉为光荣的人民教师。

当真正走上工作岗位以后，我在那里切实体会到了教师平凡而烦琐的生活，体会到了工作的艰辛和巨大的压力。我苦恼、迷茫、动摇。后来，我通过自己的考试，进入了我们西湖区干家巷小学。我知道，我不能丢弃我的教书生活，我离不开孩子们。在这里，我倍感温暖，周围同事们的工作精神感化着我、震撼着我，和学生们共同欢笑，共同烦恼，我周围的老师们无怨无悔的这样做着，他们像春蚕，象蜡烛，用自己的青春和生命来捍卫这个职业的神圣。

i was surprised to hear that for i thought she had every reason to be confident. however, the expectation of perfection has become a burden to her. i told her no one could be perfect and i suggested she find her own position.

in fact, people are so eager to be perfect that they demand too much of themselves. they want to be special and unique, and they want to have no defects or weaknesses. however, we can never avoid mistakes and errors. it's impossible for us to be a superman or a superwoman. no matter how successful we are, there are always some flaws. if we hold that everything should be perfect, we would be overcritical.

my friend now has changed her attitude. she accepts her shortcomings but still keeps a positive outlook. she is even more active and doesn't allow the mistakes to hinder her pursuit of excellence. and i think that's the way we should be!that's all. thank you!

you came out and said that issues and ideals matter, jobs matter, downstate and upstate, health care matters, education matters, the environment matters, social security matters, a woman's right to choose matters. it all matters and i just want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you, new york!

thank you for opening up your minds and your hearts, for seeing the possibility of what we could do together for our children and for our future here in this state and in our nation. i am profoundly grateful to all of you for giving me the chance to serve you.

i will - i will do everything i can to be worthy of your faith and trust and to honor the powerful example of senator daniel patrick moynihan. i would like all of you and the countless new yorkers and americans watching to join me in honoring him for his incredible half century of service to new york and our nation. senator moynihan, on behalf of new york and america, thank you.

you see, i believe our nation owes every responsible citizen and every responsible family the tools that they need to make the most of their own lives. that's the basic bargain. i'll do my best to honor in the united states senate.

and to those of you who did not support me, i want you to know that i will work in the senate for you and for all new yorkers. and to those of you who worked so hard and never lost faith even in the toughest times, i offer you my undying gratitude.

着名的文学家托尔斯泰曾经说过：“世界上只有两种人：一种是观望者，一种是行动者。大多数人想改变这个世界，但没人想改变自己。”想要改变现状，就要改变自己;要改变自己。就得改变自己的观念。一切成就，都是从正确的观念开始的。一连串的失败，也都是从错误的观念开始的。要适应社会，适应环境，适应变化，就要学会改变自己。

柏拉图告诉弟子自己能够移山，弟子们纷纷请教方法，柏拉图笑道，说：“很简单，山若不过来，我就过去。”弟子们一片哗然。

这一个世界上根本就没有移山之术，唯一的一个移动山的方法就是：山不过来，我便过去。同样的道理，人不能改变环境，那么我们就要改变自己。

一个黑人小孩在他父亲的葡萄酒厂看守橡木桶。每天早上，他用抹布将一个个木桶擦干净，然后一排排地整齐地放好。令他生气的是，往往一夜之间，风就把他排列整齐的木桶吹得东倒西歪。

小男孩很委屈地哭了。父亲摸着小男孩的头说：“孩子，不要哭，我们可以想办法去征服风。”

于是小男孩擦干了眼泪坐在木桶边想啊想，想了半天终于想出了一个办法，他从井边挑来一桶又一桶的清水，然后把它们倒进那些空空的橡木桶里，然后他就忐忑不安地回家睡觉了。第二天，天刚蒙蒙亮，小男孩就匆匆地爬了起来，他跑到放桶的地方一看，那些橡木桶一个一个排列得整整齐齐，没有一个被风吹倒的，也没有一个被风吹歪的。小男孩开心地笑了，他对父亲说：“要想木桶不被风吹倒，就要加重木桶的重量。”男孩的父亲赞许地微笑了。

是的，我们不能改变风，改变不了这个这个世界上的许多东西，但是我们可以改变自己，给自己加重，这样我们就可以适应变化，不被打败!

在威斯敏斯特教堂地下室里，英国圣公会主教的墓碑上写着这样一段话：当我年轻自由的时候，我的想象力没有任何局限，我梦想改变这个世界。当我渐渐成熟明智的时候，我发现这个世界是不可改变的，于是我将眼光放得短浅了一些，那就只改变我的国家吧!但是我的国家似乎也是我无法改变的。当我到了迟暮之年，抱着最后一丝努力的希望，我决定只改变我的家庭、我最亲近的人——但是，唉!他们根本不接受改变。现在我在临终之际，我才突然意识到：如果起初我只改变自己，接着我就可以依次改变我的家人。然后，在他们的激发和鼓励下，我也许能改变我的国家。再接下来，谁又知道呢，也许我连整个世界都可以改变。

人生如水，人只能去适应环境。如果不能改变环境，就改变自己，只有这样，才能克服更多的困难，战胜更多的挫折，实现自我。如果不能看到自己的缺点和不足，只是一味地埋怨环境不利，从而把改变境遇的希望寄托在改变环境上，这实在是徒劳无益。

虽然我们不能改变世界，但我们可以改变自己，让我们用爱心和智慧来面对一切环境。
