每年的12月25日，是纪念耶稣诞生的日子，因此称为圣诞节。圣诞节的前一夜称为平安夜。从12月24日于翌年1月6日为圣诞节节期。圣诞节成为一个全民性的节日，国家一年中最盛大的节日，可以和春节。西方人以红、绿、白三色为圣诞色，圣诞节来临时家家户户都要用圣诞色来装饰。红色的有圣诞花和圣诞蜡烛。绿色的是圣诞树。它是圣诞节的主要装饰品，用砍伐来的杉、柏一类呈塔形的常青树装饰而成。上面悬挂着五颜六色的彩灯、礼物和纸花，还点燃着圣诞蜡烛。红色与白色相映成趣的是圣诞老人，他是圣诞节活动中欢迎的人物。据说平安夜的晚上，圣诞老公公会驾着满载着礼物的驯鹿雪橇，送礼物给这一年来表现很好的小朋友。他会悄悄地从烟囱爬进屋内，把礼物塞在挂在床头的袜子里。所以孩子们在临睡前总会把一条条色彩缤纷的袜子挂在床头，并在袜子旁边放杯热牛奶给劳苦功高的圣诞老人解渴。第二天一早，每个小朋友都迫不及待地打开袜子，想知道自己得到什么奖励。

圣诞节的庆祝方式众多，而且每个国家略有不同。但普遍的有制作、互赠圣诞贺卡，平安果(即又大又红的苹果)，悬挂圣诞袜，戴圣诞帽，一家人围绕着圣诞树拆礼物、唱歌跳舞，尽情欢乐等。老师们，同学们，马上就是圣诞节了，让我们也来庆祝圣诞节吧。

christmas day falls on the twenty-fifth of december. it is a very happy day for many boys and girls . before the term ends in some schools , the children act a nativity or birth play, showing how jesus was born in a stable.

on the twenty-fourth of december, all children are very excited. usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. the younger children think that father christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace , so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. the greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. later that night, father or mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.

on christmas morning, the children wake up very early. some even turn on the light at two o'clock, and most of them are awake by six o'clock although it is not light in england for another hour or two at this time of the year.children look for their presents , and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. at about one o'clock in the afternoon, the christmas dinner is brought in . the turkey or chicken is quickly eaten . children search in their christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it . the rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all christmas hollidays comes to an end.

i like christmas, it is just like our spring festival.

maybe the spring festival is much more important and interesting than christmas, but i like christmas day better. because we can spend time with our friends and classmates during christmas. when it is snowy, christmas becomes much more lovely, just like in fairytales. i can imagine i am in a fairytale, the girl who sold the matches is my friend, the ugly duck becoming more and more beautiful and so on. what a beautiful place! so we can also call christmas snowy lovely day.

今天是2013年12月25日，正好是西方圣诞节，这个节日似乎比中国的某些传统节日更要隆重，同事对我说，中国人有崇洋媚外的习惯，但我并不这么认为，中国人也跟西方大多发达国家一样，都有追求时髦的习惯，虽说过圣诞节节已经不是什么时髦了，但是有一个强大的动力让我们无法否认，那就是经济的强大动力。我们其实不难理解，早在上世纪新中国成立初期，前苏联是世界是的超级大国之一，前苏联和新中国有不可抹灭的渊源，所有苏联人的东西，我们一样也去学。如今的中国，地大物博，发展不均，贫富参差不齐;穷的地方到富的地方也是一样，要学富的地方，穷地方的人也会学着像富的地方过生活。

寒来暑往，四季更新，一年又一年!令人欣慰的是，我们的中文教室总是沐浴在“快乐求知、积极向上”的“阳光雨露中”健康成长……持之以恒、学无止境; 锐气十足、目标明确。无论是老同学，还是新学友，勿论男女老少：知识、阅历丰富的，理解力强;初出茅庐、风华正茂的，记忆力强。每一个人身上都有着让我为之叹服的，广阔而丰富的知识修养和不屈不挠的进取精神!值此辞旧迎新之际，万般感慨涌心头，想说的话实在是太多太多：

once upon a time, a weenie ant was walking on his way. as he was walking, suddenly he felt the ground shaking terribly. he looked around with his paranoid eyes and saw an elephant walking right behind him. quickly, the little ant covered himself with dirt, but one leg was unfortunately left out. a sparrow saw everything, so she flew down with the purpose of teasing the ant: hey, chicken! watch out your leg, itsquo;s out! the ant felt embarrassed at first but then calmly responded: shi…i am going to trip that elephant.

right now, isquo;m standing on this glamorous stage. but everything here reminds me of is a not so fun memory. around this time last year i was in nanjing competing in another speech contest. that was the first time for me to be in such a large event. of course the pressure i was under was immense too. after a sleepless and stressful night, i went onto that stage without the feeling in my legs. that speech turned out to be horrible. i donsquo;t remember how i get down from there, but i do remember afterwards i just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story. back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. thanks to all the help i got from my special friends. my confidence was restored. after rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, i am here today. from all that isquo;ve been through isquo;ve learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if i want my life to go on well i have to let go of my past failure. so today, with out fear, i am tripping my elephant again.

但是随着时光渐渐流逝，我对这个美妙的传说产生了怀疑，可我又不能不相信我每年都收到圣诞老人给我的礼物。今年的圣诞节前夕，我问妈妈：“妈，今天圣诞老人会给我送来礼物吗?”“会的，一定会的。只要你今晚好好睡觉，圣诞老人一定会来的。”

妈妈对我说。于是我在圣诞节当晚制定了一个周密的计划。我像往常的圣诞节一样，把大袜子、大鞋子用夹子夹在阳台的栏杆上，然后早早地钻进了被窝装睡，当我听到了阳台上有动静的时候，马上爬了起来，心里想：“马上就要见到圣诞老人了，圣诞老人到底是什么模样，是不是像爸爸给我形容的那样，长着雪白的胡子，戴着圣诞帽，穿着一套红色的衣服，一旁还停着装满礼物的雪橇呢?”

我迫不及待地把窗帘拉开了一个小缝，这时我怔住了，阳台上没有什么戴着圣诞帽，穿着红衣服的圣诞老人，更没有什么装满礼物的雪橇，有的是外婆、妈妈，她们举着手电筒，在给我放在阳台上的大袜子、大鞋子里放礼物，在这手电筒的微光下，她们显得格外苍老。

她们要回屋了，我忙钻进了被窝。当晚，我又梦见了自己变成了淘气的驯鹿鲁道夫，我拉的却是外婆和妈妈，我拉着她们为全世界的小朋友们送去一份礼物，送去一份欢乐。

这个晚上的故事，即将成为一个永久的秘密。
